An Anglo-Swiss family runs the Albergo Hotel Tesserete built in 1910 and full of old-world charm. It boasts a large green garden and is only 15 minutes away from Lugano. The Tesserete bus stop is right across the Albergo Hotel Tesserete, which is specially suitable for hikers and bikers. In the village of Tesserete there are 3 restaurants serving various specialities. Tesserete is the starting point for many walks and mountainbike tours in shady chestnut woods and unspoilt countryside. 2003 the Mountain Bike World Championship was held on the nearby Tamaro mountain. A public swimming pool is only a few minutes' walk from the hotel and is open from May to September. Recently a new open-air sport center was opened in Tesserete for athletics, football, tennis and more. In Origlio 4 km from Tesserete there are 2 stables.
